Margherita Pizza

We think you are going to like this one. It has become a favorite at our house lately. It is much healthier compared to your standard delivery pizza and tastes WAY better.


1 cup fresh basil (chopped)

2 cloves garlic (peeled & pressed)

5 regular tomatoes (thinly sliced)

Whole wheat pizza dough

1 cup mozzarella cheese (or vegan mozzarella) (grated)

Corn meal

1 tsp olive oil

1 tsp balsamic vinegar

1 tsp dulse

1 tsp black pepper


  1. Gather your ingredients and preheat oven to 450.
  2. Prepare pizza dough as per package.
  3. Prepare the rest of the ingredients. Chop basil, slice tomatoes, peel garlic, grate cheese, and measure out olive oil.
  4. Press garlic into olive oil and set aside.
  5. Roll your pizza dough out into a thin rectangular shape.
  6. Flour a large baking sheet (or lightly oil) and lay your pizza dough on the baking sheet.
  7. Bake until crust becomes lightly brown on top (about 8 min).
  8. Lightly brush the olive oil and garlic mixture evenly on top of the pizza dough.
  9. Top pizza dough with tomatoes and cheese and bake until cheese is melted (about 8 more min).
  10. Top with dulse, black pepper, basil and drizzle with balsamic vinegar.
  11. Serve with green salad.
