Margherita Pizza
We think you are going to like this one. It has become a favorite at our house lately. It is much healthier compared to your standard delivery pizza and tastes WAY better.
Ingredients
1 cup fresh basil (chopped)
2 cloves garlic (peeled & pressed)
5 regular tomatoes (thinly sliced)
Whole wheat pizza dough
1 cup mozzarella cheese (or vegan mozzarella) (grated)
Corn meal
1 tsp olive oil
1 tsp balsamic vinegar
1 tsp dulse
1 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Gather your ingredients and preheat oven to 450.
- Prepare pizza dough as per package.
- Prepare the rest of the ingredients. Chop basil, slice tomatoes, peel garlic, grate cheese, and measure out olive oil.
- Press garlic into olive oil and set aside.
- Roll your pizza dough out into a thin rectangular shape.
- Flour a large baking sheet (or lightly oil) and lay your pizza dough on the baking sheet.
- Bake until crust becomes lightly brown on top (about 8 min).
- Lightly brush the olive oil and garlic mixture evenly on top of the pizza dough.
- Top pizza dough with tomatoes and cheese and bake until cheese is melted (about 8 more min).
- Top with dulse, black pepper, basil and drizzle with balsamic vinegar.
- Serve with green salad.
