What if I have an extra large family, will this still work for me?

Absolutely! Most of our recipes are based on a family of 4 and are easily adjusted up or down. We will provide tips for making the meal larger of smaller depending on your specific needs. We have all of our grocery lists broken down so you can quickly print the one that is right for you.

What if I'm vegetarian? vegan? gluten-free? meat lover?

All of our recipes are plant-strong and whole foods focused. That means they can be easily adapted to fit your needs. Usually just one ingredient swap will do the trick. It's part of the beauty of this collection of recipes. As nutrition coaches, we do not promote a strict eating style. We believe we are each unique and respond differently to various foods. If you have allergies or dislikes, you can easily make modifications.

Are your recipes seasonal?

We love seasonal produce. However, we have also set this program up so that it runs year-round, which means we cannot be completely driven by seasonality. Our goal with this first-year program is to provide convenience, variety and simplicity. We want the program to work whether you live in San Diego or New York, so we have chosen recipes that are easy to accomplish year-round. You may fall upon a soup recipe when it's 100-degrees outside or you may come across a recipe for squash that is out of season. When this happens, it is very easy to swap out a recipe or a vegetable. It's actually part of the fun! Don't be afraid to experiment. You may discover a new favorite to share with us! 🙂

Because we are based in San Diego, if you live in Southern California and start our program at the beginning of the year, you'll find it easiest to incorporate seasonality - using up your CSA boxes or things you find at local farmers markets. If you're in Buffalo, you may not have the same brands or you may have to rely on frozen ingredients at certain times of the year. That's okay. Our ingredients are basic, but we encourage you to find the best/healthiest option of each that you can find. We'll provide education/advice about that throughout the program.

Over the course of the year, you'll have exposure to over 100 recipes. What you will learn is that recipes are more flexible than you think. We encourage you to experiment, add, subtract and get creative. Each time you make a recipe, you'll improve upon it. There are also a lot of things you can do with leftover produce - we'll provide tips and tricks along the way based on our experience. Read our post on "What to do when you can't find an ingredient."
